Nigel Adkins left Rovers on Wednesday after 15 months in charge

Nigel Adkins parted ways with Tranmere on Wednesday by mutual agreement with the club winless in 10 matches in the league.

Adkins had been in charge for 15 months and that time as boss ended after they were beaten by fellow League Two strugglers Accrington at home on Tuesday night.

59-year-old Adkins lost 34 of his 72 games in charge of Rovers and coach Andy Crosby will now lead the team in their game against Port Vale on Saturday.
