Return to Unit won last time out in soft ground and although he goes up in class here he can take this in his stride and reward his long trip north.

Has been running well in decent handicaps and will prefer the slightly easier ground here. The highlight run was @Epsom when 3rd behind the talented Sallaal from 1lb higher. The stable appear in better form now.

Return To Unit is too short here given his poor FlatStats rating and booking of S Bowen with his 3% SR (A/E 0.4) in C1-3 races. Spoken Truth must overcome Moyglare Stud's 8% SR (A/E 0.46) with runners carrying 9-4+, meanwhile the J Goldie yard form (2/44, A/E 0.33 over the past fortnight) puts Dwindling Funds up against it. Galyx looks a tad high in the handicap and (amazingly) N Currie has only had one ride at Hamilton previously, but I put up POINT OF CONTACT at Goodwood last week where he was withdrawn (unsure as to why) and I'm not going to desert him today. The son of Blue Point won on his penultimate start, coming at York over this trip where they went off like the clappers, but failed to back that up when stepping up to 10f at Sandown last month. He went close off marks of 87 and 88 last year, so I'm confident that the weight is no issue, and A Balding's phenomenal 49% SR (A/E 1.68) with fancied BP progeny boosts claims. 15/2 (4 places) taken.

His bold front-running tactics frequently secure a place after winning at York. Looks to have a decent each-way chance here today.

A tight-knit little handicap where Impartiality appeals at double-figure odds. He was just touched off last time off a similar mark, and the drop back in trip should be just the tonic. He goes well here.

Strength Of Spirit is too big a price at 14/1 to ignore. He won a decent Musselburgh handicap back in April in quite taking fashion, and has done well in a number of good races since. If you take into account the useful Jack Nicholls's three-pound claim, he is only a pound higher than the mark he won off at Musselburgh. I think he looks a solid each-way bet at the current price.

Swift Salian has been consistent in his three runs this season. He might be better suited to returning to Hamilton, where he was successful last year. He is not down to his last winning mark but looks to have improved.
