Macarone arrives in good heart, having gone down by a short head in Ffos Las. Career low mark of 47. All four of his wins have come in Class 6 in 5-6f trips.

Most of the horses that I picked here have been backed to favourite beginning with this one. His only win came over 5f on the A/W in Feb 2024 but he has posted some decent efforts over 5+6f when 2nd. His current form is not the best but in higher grade. He signalled a return to form when 3rd over this trip last time and the drop to class 6 could see a 2nd win.

This accomplished veteran shines at Chepstow. As he returns to his ideal C&D, he is well-weighted and has recently finished a close 3rd over the same track and trip, indicating a strong each-way opportunity at reasonable odds.

Marisitta has improved with the drop back to 6 furlongs the last twice, and its last two runs at the distance saw it close to the winning horses. It could go close today on ground it is proven on and with a good draw. Place at least for me.

This horse's mark will not get much lower when we adjust for the claim. The horse has lost its way but was a lot better last year. Racing OK off 72.

A proven course-and-distance winner at Chepstow on good-to-firm ground, which is a positive for Sunday's conditions. Chepstow Racecourse is essentially a home track, with the trainer based nearby.
